A love letter to her Asian heritage, founder Yu-Chen Shih set out to bridge the gap between luxury and inclusivity— innovating best-in-class beauty that addresses the overlooked and underrepresented.
With the help of a top chemist and Stanford-trained dermatologist, they developed a breakthrough formula that effectively addresses top skin concerns such as: oiliness, hyperpigmentation, dehydration, loss of radiance, and signs of aging.
Yu-Chen Shih (石育甄) adored beauty her whole life, only she never truly felt accepted by the industry she loved. Mainstream cosmetic brands overlooked people of color; traditional Asian culture wanted her to believe that only fair skin could be beautiful.
She spent her young adult years scouring drugstore aisles and department store counters from Taipei to Los Angeles, only to find that even Asian brands did not offer foundation shades that matched her melanin-rich Southeast Asian complexion.
But if you don’t have a seat at the table, you make an entirely new office… that’s exactly what Yu-Chen did after years of searching for and failing to find a foundation that worked for her. Hungry for a brand that understood her, she created Orcé Cosmetics to celebrate the diverse tones and unique structure of Asian skin.
